B-School applications take you on a long and tiring journey which teaches you to think both introspectively and prospectively. The key is to enjoy the process, learn from it and do your best. I will try to help anyone who is going to apply this year (or in future) to guide him on how to best manage your applications, deadlines and keep a track of everything that's going to flood you. Enjoy!
The list
I will follow schools which I admire. I will try to keep an updated entry for each of these schools which will have the deadlines, essay topics and relevant links. This list has no order or rankings. Everyone has their own views on schools and so I will try to keep the format generic. The idea is to tell you how to go about any school you may want to apply and not one specific school.
The first step is creating a list of schools, out of which you will apply to all or some of them. Making a list does not mean looking at BW or FT rankings, only! I will not opine on how one should decide, because there are more articles than you can read on the internet by authors who have immense knowledge about these things. All I would say is personal likes/dislikes do matter. Rankings do matter. Personal circumstances, scores, chances of admission, and many more factors play their own important part in such a decision making. So read as much as you can. Follow B-school blogs, talk to friends, alumni, and basically take into account everything and make your decision.

Prepare for the worst
Finally, keep in mind that for a few unlucky ones, this might not be the only time they will apply. So be ready for failures. Keep an open mind, be strong and perseverant. Don't let a rejection letter change you for worse. First and foremost everyone of us are entitled to being happy, productive and doing what makes us happy. Keep a good log of everything you do this year, keep neat versions of your essays. Stay connected to your recommenders and make sure all the madness is not getting to you and people around you.

Students should determine what prep method is right for them and make sure they stay committed to it. For some, professional prep is the best way. For example, a recent student of ours just couldn't get past 640 studying by himself, but after our help he got a 700 and a FULL scholarship.
