I got inspired by the way you write started recently to prepare for GMAT...........
I just started my GMAT prep this week... solved a few diagnostic questions from the OG and took 1 of the two tests available through download on mba.com -- GMATPrep practice test
and got a 50 in Q, 41 in Verbal with a 750,
with 7 wrong in each... although i'm pretty happy with the result... not sure how much i should be reading into it... do you think it's a decent reflection of the actual gmat, i'm guessing it isn't computer adaptive anyway.. would really like to hear your thoughts.. thanks.
Thanks for everything that you have been doing...your blogs are very inspirational and so too is your selflessness! If only people like you were more amongst us, this world would be a better place!
Thanks a ton!!
thanks for providing selfless guidance to all of us.In your words,ur guidance is Simple,Transparent & Honest!
I got a 710 on the GMAT...I wish to improve my scores. I did only the OG and the GMac Tests.
What tests would you recommend would gimme an honest picture of my scores ?
I wish to check out if I should re-attempt at all and may be how much time I need to get back into exam mode.
Thanks so much
Thank you so much for providing these invaluable online resources for GMAT preparations.

God bless you...
.Am just gonna start with my GMAT preparation went through your website
and have lots of doubts and queries so it
would really grateful if i can get your
email id
710 is a good score. I got a 710, but without preparation. I got a 740 at the end of my preparation. So you could say you are certainly there.
It also depends on your consistency....Kaplan 650-690 is very good. I hope you are not encountering familiar questions (too many of them)
12 in quants is BAD. Try to bring it under 6.
9 in verbal is VERY GOOD. Keep it up!
I am guessing if you are consistent and bring Q to under 6 mistakes, you may even be looking at 750.
Hope that helps.
I just took the first of two GMATPrep practice tests contained in the software that downloaded from the www.mba.com website. My score was a 710. My goal is to make a 730 so I am pleased with this outcome. However, I am hesitant to believe the accuracy of this score when I missed so many of the questions. I got the first 10 questions right in both Quant and Verbal but I missed roughly 12 in Q and 9 in Verb. Given, the math was very difficult and so was the Verbal. My predicted scaled scores were 49 in Quant & 37 in Verbal. I have read that the GMATPrep CAT tests are the most accurate but I am still a little worried and needed some verification.
Questions: Did anyone else have similar results? If so, can you verify whether your true score was a close reflection of the predicted score?
PS: I have been studying and practicing with mostly Kaplan prep materials and my practice test scores usually range from 650- 690. I missed fewer questions with Kaplan so was not nearly concerned about scoring accuracy but nonetheless, Can anyone answer the same questions concerning these tests.
As per the GMAC website the GMAT score is valid for five years, but i
have come across many posts in pagalguy and www.learnhub.com which say
that many top b schools don take a gmat score more than two years old
. and, if you could tell me how the asian b schools like ISB, NUS ,
Nanyang, HKUST and other good schools would take the GMAT score, Will
an older GMAT score(within the validity period of five years but more
than two years old ) be a factor in the admissions .
